Straying Away is an intermediate post-apocalyptic canine roleplay. Come on in and join a pack of your choice to run about the silenced cities. We roleplay four rival dog packs roaming the state of New York after a terrible Rage Virus wipes out 85% of the Earth's population. Some of each species gather and survive, though these canines seem to defend themselves well in this new troubled world. Do you dare to join a pack of the Elemental Four, or will you run around on your own as a lone one?
Here, we give you some freedom! Make your own mini-plot, set up an idea for a big plot, choose what you want to do. Set your dogs out on the cities. You have free reign! Make sure you tell us or get permission from a Staff member if you do something big, though.

The air becomes cooler as the season of autumn blows in. The leaves of the trees turn warm red, gold, and brown before they fall to the ground, littering the streets with their colors. The days are nice and cool and the nights are crisp and cold. Breath can even be seen as time rolls by. Winter is surely on it's way.
Current Time of Day: evening
The skies are currently overcast, rain falling in the evenings and lightning thundering throughout the days and nights. The storms seem endless, though sunshine does peek through the breaks in the clouds, promising light and warmth in the few days to come. Soak it all up, for the days are getting colder.
General OOC Here is where we keep all of the things we have to do here besides roleplay. We've got 4 things up now, but keep checking back for more. Graphics Shops, Games, Contests, Member Introductions, etc.
Pawprint Shops Here you can make your own shop and let the members of SA request and buy graphics and special things from you with their pawprint points.
A Little Lost Have a question about something? Confused? Need something to be explained? Make a thread here and you will be answered as soon as possible.
Spilling Ink on the Page This board is where you can edit and create your dogs. If you have to leave while making a canine, make a thread here and finish them later.
Pending Canines Once you have finished making your dog at the board above, make a thread for your character here. When/If a staff member approves your canine, delete your thread and place your finished dog on your character profile!
Character Profiles This is where you will make your own thread and post all of your dogs in your "Character Profile". If you do not know what that is, look at some of them.
Interactions Anything that has to do with canines interacting with eachother should be here. Romances, enemies, friends, adoptions, and mini-plots between canines will be found. If your idea is not in one of the sub-boards, feel free to make a thread here.
The Graveyard Here is where all of the finished roleplay threads that aren't being used anymore go. It keeps the boards clean. If you wish to continue a thread that's in the Graveyard, PM a Staff member and they will move it back to its original board.
The Terminal This is the Fire Pack's camp, an abandoned terminal office that had burned down during the Rage Virus breakout. You will probably roleplay here often and all mothers and pups must stay here.
Metro Rails This is the Buffalo Metro Rails, where the pack sometimes come to just meet up and hang out. The occasional 'raged' human can be found here, so be cautious. For some unknown reason, the trains still run through here. Watch your tail while crossing the rails or you might get run over.

Abandoned Avenue This is the Abandoned Avenue. All of the buildings are, well, abandoned. This is where a lot of the scavengers search for food. You may also find things for camp bedding and things to just chew on.
Still Water Park This is the Still Water Park, where dogs come to play, swim, and sometimes scavenge. You will find the occasional surviving prey to hunt, though most of the time the dogs leave other animals alone because of the chance of the prey being 'raged'.

The Junk Pile This is The Junk Pile, which is the Buffalo junkyard. If for some reason the pack has to leave the camp for a while, they stay here. This place consists of many thrown away household items and trashed furniture. You may also find some food here. Many dogs also come here to collect bedding and items for the camp.

Roaming the City of Buffalo Here is where you come to just roam about the city of Buffalo, New York. The places above are the main spots, but this will probably be where you roleplay most. You can play anywhere, hunt anywhere, and just be anywhere! This is good for roleplaying lone ones.

The Water Pack}}&!
The Tattered Building This is the Water Pack's camp, an old and damaged appartment building. There are three levels, but you can pretty much stay anywhere throughout the building. The walls are rotting away and the place is moth-infested, but it's a warm pace to stay. All mothers and pups must stay here.
Tall Towers & Steps This is the Tall Towers & Steps, which is just a bunch of tall buildings and concrete stairs in the heart of Albany. Here the pack can meet up and hang out as they roam the city. The occasional lone 'raged' human may be found here.

Old Fashioned Road Here is the Old Fashioned Road, where a bunch of old buildings and houses are. Scavengers often come here to look for food and items for the camp. A few hostile surviving humans have been found here, so you might want to keep an eye out for them.

Mossy Pond Park This is the Mossy Pond Park, where dogs may come to play, swim, and scavenge. There are also some plants and herbs that are found here for healing purposes. Live prey is a rare sight, but I wouldn't hunt prey here because of the 'raged' chances.

Market of Luck This is the Market of Luck, an abandoned and old Wal-Mart on the opposite edge of Albany, far from camp. You will find food and items here, though a lot of it was taken by the humans during the Virus Breakout. Since it is on the other side of the city, the trek it dangerous. If you make it to this market unharmed by the 'raged', you are considered a very lucky dog.

Roaming the City of Albany Here you may run about the city of Albany, New York. You may make up your own place and play your canines here, whevever you want. The places above are the main spots, but you will probably roleplay here the most. This is a good place to play your lone ones.
The Lost Road This is the Air Pack's camp, an abandoned road of cars in the suburbs of Queens. The dogs stay and sleep outside and in the cars during the summer and spring, and they move to the surrounding houses during the winter. All mothers and pups must stay in this area.
Train Track Stop This is the Train Track Stop, where dogs can come to meet up and hang out during the day. At night a few 'raged' humans come here to stay, but during the day no one really knows where they go. Be careful, though, a few dogs and animals have fallen under the tracks and couldn't get out.
Bridge of Lights This is the Bridge of Lights, which is a big concrete bridge that crosses over a canal or river. Here you can hunt for items and food in the cars left on the bridge and in the buildings below. Some dogs just come here to get away and take in the sight of their city's famous sunset.
Leafy Lake Park This is the Leafy Lake Park, where dogs can come to swim, play, and scavenge. There aren't many animals here except for the occasional duck in the water, but there are a few plants for healing by the water's edge. A group of 'raged' humans come here once in a blue moon, but it is a rare sight. This park got its name because in autumn there is always a layer of golden and brown leaves on the water.

The Warehouse This is The Warehouse, which is a tatterd Costco shopping warehouse in the heart of Queens. Some of the items and food were taken by the humans during the Virus Breakout, but it's a big place, there's a lot of stuff leftover. There is everything from furniture and food, to toys and medicines. This may seem like the best pace to be, but it can be dangerous. A large pack of surviving humans live here and they attack anything that they see come in. If you are slick enough to grab what you came for and make it out, go right ahead.

Roaming the Borough of Queens Here you can come to roleplay your canine anywhere throughout the borough of Queens in New York City, New York. The place is pretty big, so there are many opporitunities to be creative. Play, scavenge, and run anywhere! Even though the boards above are the main spots, this is probably where you will roleplay the most.
The Mansion This is the Earth Pack's camp, an old abandoned mansion that had been owned by some rich sales person. It isn't exactly as big as the mornal mansion, but there are 7 floors and many rooms. The bottom floor is like a fancy hotel lobby. The place is still in tact and pretty neat, but there is a bit of a mold problem on the top floor. All mothers and pups must stay here.

Coney Island This is Coney Island, an amusement park/fair that was very popular before the Virus Breakout. Food and items can sometimes be found in the food stands and Souvenir shops. The rides don't work and won't turn on, but the farris wheel and the chairswing turn on by themselves sometimes.
The View This is The View, which is a road where many buildings sit in the view of the bridge. This is a regular scavenging place, for food can be found in the buildings on this street. 'Raged ones' have been spotted here, so be careful.

Ghostly Park This is the Ghostly Park, where dogs can come to play and hang out. During the day, anyways. At night the park gets all foggy and eerie, hence its name. This is the only park in Brooklyn. Some dogs say they have seen ghosts here at night, but that is just a rumor. Or is it?

The Dump This is Th Dump, which is trash galore for any dog who doesn't mind getting dirty. Old food is found here, and broken items. This is in the heart of Brooklyn, where the 'raged' have been seen most. If you are brave enough to go there or slick enough to pass the infected, you may find all you need here.
Roaming the Borough of Brooklyn Here is where you will come if you want your dog to roam the Borough of Brooklyn in New York City, New York. It's a chance to be creative! Make up a place for your dog to scavenge or play, or play your lone ones traveling here. Though the bords above are the main spots, you will probably be here often.
